aois21 publishing launching new classic titles “aois21 free”

New releases breathe life into classic titles in the electronic market

MOUNT VERNON, VA – aois21 publishing, LLC announces the launch of aois21 free, a series of curated classic books no longer covered by copyright, for the electronic market. These titles will be available for free from the aois21 market and any distributor that allows free downloads.

The first titles available from aois21 free will be two works of importance in American history: Benjamin Franklin’s Apology for Printers and Paul Jennings' A Colored Man’s Reminiscences of James Madison.

Franklin’s Apology for Printers was written in 1731 as an article for the Pennsylvania Gazette. Franklin had been attacked for printing an article that was deeply unpopular, so in this piece he defended the practice and stated that it was always his duty to print the truth rather than what is popular.

Jennings' Reminiscences is known as the first White House memoir and comes from the freed former slave of the 4th President. He had written it after being freed by Senator Daniel Webster, and it discusses his servitude and the day that the British burned the Executive Mansion, as it was then known, and most of the capital city.

Both titles will be available later this summer. Additional details, including the cover, new introductions, historical research, critical notes, and more, will be announced at that time.

Currently, the only free title in the aois21 catalog is 48 Game Misconduct, the sports memoir by Keith F. Shovlin collected from his tumblr of the same name, published last spring. With these new free titles, aois21 commits itself to making reading available to everyone, regardless of income. This is in addition to submitting its titles to libraries and its charitable support for Worldreader and other literary charities.

"We have devoted ourselves to share stories that enlighten and inspire us here at aois21,” said Keith F. Shovlin, aois21’s publisher. "Both of these books are a forgotten piece of American history, and we are hoping a new generation of readers enjoys them."
